Niescier Jensson McLemore Reykjavík, Iceland
Angelika and Scott met at the Moers Jazz Festival and the idea for a trio was born with guitarist Hilmar Jensson. McLemore and Jensson both live in Iceland and Niescier is based in Cologne, Germany.

My third album! Honestly, I thought I'd have more by now. My favorite track is definitely "Extended Thema" which is based on a composition called "Thema" by my lovely wife, Sunna Gunnlaugs. I always love playing "Thema" with her trio and I would sometimes mess around with it on the piano (when no one was home). I'm just happy I was able to pull off this little tribute without being sued for copyright infringement. ;-P

I bought this album as I really love piano trios. Sunna has a lovely straight ahead style whilst throwing in the odd avant-garde left turn. What really surprised me is I keep coming back to her again and again. This is music that gets under your skin. All three are consummate musicians. Check out ‘Summertime’ for the perfect example of how to cover a classic in style.
